Today marks a new era for luxury French label Lacoste as Paris-based Portuguese designer Felipe Oliveira Baptista steps into his new role as Creative Director.
He shall succeed Christophe Lemaire whose move to Hermès was announced earlier this year and whose final collection for Lacoste will be presented on September the 11th in New York. As Lemaire's predecessor, Baptista shall no doubt bring a wealth of experience to the brand, as well as injecting a fresh new approach to proceedings. Baptista is a graduate of Kingston University, has won the Hyeres Festival prize and also scooped the ANDAM prize not once but twice. Furthermore, Baptista was invited to join the official Couture calendar in 2005 and has been presenting his ready-to-wear collections at Paris Fashion Week since 2009.
With his first collection expected for Spring/Summer 2012, 7TH MAN looks forward to see what this man has in store for this classic sportswear label.
