Vivienne Westwood Anglomania + Lee Release Next Collection

With the first Vivienne Westwood + Lee collaborative collection proving to be a massive success, the next collection looks set to be just as popular. With a range that pays homage to the über cool combination of bikers, rockers and festivals, the garments are loaded with embellishments such as embroidered badges and patches which feature heavily on the denim waistcoats and jeans. The menswear collection comprises of six styles of jeans as well as four different tops.

The Bondage Jean featuring Westwood’s signature zip crotch detail, the Classic Jean and Low Crotch Jean are popular styles that have been carried over from the previous season while the Overall Jean and the Mechanic Jean are developments of a loose-fit banana leg and a slim cut fit respectively. The Mayfair Jean, an all new smarter style, consists of a flat front and front iron pleats developed from traditional tailored Savile Row trousers.

The designs focus heavily on fabrics and washes. There is the classic indigo denim with selvage as well as a vintage wash but also an over-dyed blood red finish on drill. Denims have been paint splattered, cut and repaired or patched with slogans to give a lived in look. A metallic hologram print on denim injects the collection with a psychedelic touch reminiscent of 70’s rock’n’roll.

T-shirts are on offer as well as a rocker’s denim waistcoat while the classic denim shirt has been given a classic Westwood twist with the placket skewed to the side and an asymmetric collar. In all, the collection a chic yet utterly wearable concoction courtesy of the perfectly matched collaboration of two labels.
