Dr. Martens Flagship Store in Spring Street

In conjunction with its 50th anniversary british-based footwear, Dr. Martens opened their doors in NYC.

The store's decor is based around the furniture and fixtures you could expect to find in the raw and industrial Northamptonshire, England factory. Reflecting the sense of craft involved in Dr. Martens' boots and shoes, all fittings used in the store are authentic and durable.

The store will carry a full offering of boots, shoes, sandals and accessories as well as a special limited edition 1460 boot in Liberty green and Big Apple red that will be carried exclusively in the Soho store.

Even though it is hard to believe this is the brands first retail store in New York. Which is why the opening is grand to every New Yorker, who no longer are limited to ten or minus colors and styles that are carried around the city. And, you will have to see the quantity for yourself, sizes for all and most are unisex!

Fifth & Final Installation

Since September, Building Fashion has brought a series of collaborations celebrating architecture and fashion design. Now on its fifth and final installation from designer Siki Im and architecture artist Leong Leong, we can see the relationship between both.

This marks the first stand alone retail installation from 7thMan's favorite Siki Im. The clothing presented was from the AW2010 collection which was embedded beneath a supple layer of foam, reinforcing the dichotomy of two environments - public to private, visible and invisible. Drawing us closely to the garments and noticing each detail.

The integrated store runs thru November 15.

NYFW - SS2011 J. Sabatino

On the last day of NYFW, Jay Sabatino presented his Spring/Summer 2011 collection.

The collection was inspired by a 1981issue of The Face featuring a pictorial of the band Echo & the Bunnymen. The photos of Ian McCulloch featured punky yet summery styling that would inform the aesthetic of the spring/summer 2011 collection.

Robert Geller SS 2011 - New York

Robert Geller's Spring/Summer 2011 collection was inspired by the youth of the 1960s and 70s - an era in which young people around the world were awakened to the power they possessed to enact change.

The clothes speak to the contrast of emotions that marked the era of protests in the name of peace. Sharply cut blazers, leather jackets and jumpsuits add an aggressive element while loosely cut shorts and silky fabrics help soften the collection's tone.

Looking closer at the accessories, (the necklaces in particular) an important addition ideal for any form of confrontation.

PetrouMan SS 2011 - New York

This season, Nicolas Petrou combines the faded patterns of Americana with vibrant prints as seen at El Mocambo and celebrates the sprint of renewal for menswear classics.

It was all fun & games while entering the presentation."Petrou wants to remind men that wearing clothes should be simple yet fun, a daily act of nonchalant rebellion.

SIKI IM SS 2011 - INSOLATION / INTEGRATION

"Nationality should be stripped from anyone of foreign origin

who deliberately endangers the life of a police officer,

a soldier or a gendarme, or anyone else holding

public office. We are suffering the

consequences of 50 years of insufficiently

regulated immigration which has led to a failure of

For The Love Of Fashion

New York fashion week began yesterday and all the madness that follows it. A procedure that many don't get to see and the ones who do, do it for The Love Of Fashion.

R .J. Cutler, better known as the director of The September Issue, documented designers David & Marcus from Rag & Bone 3 days leading up to their AW2010 shows. The documentary that premiered showed all the behind-the-scenes process.

Even though it was a short-film it had the quality for more and frankly left us wanting more...

Inoue Brothers & Monocle Design Collaboration - Exclusive

Global affairs magazine MONOCLE & The Inoue Brothers launch an exclusive design collaboration. The items have launched internationally on August 19: Exclusively to Monocle shops in London, Los Angeles, Tokyo and Hong Kong.

Using the network of traditional Bolivian knitters, which have been applied to The Inoue Brothers' past collections into success; the collaboration consists of a classic jumper, a thermal V-neck pullover, and a limited-edition travel blanket, each made from super-fine baby alpaca knitted by Bolivian craftsmanship.

The items run from £155 - £175.

"Richard Hambleton - New York" in Moscow

After having been held in display both in New York and Milan, "Richard Hambleton - New York" will debut at The State Museum of Modern Art of the Russian Academy of Arts in Moscow, Russia. Curated by Vladimir Restoin Roitfeld and Andy Valmorbida, the exhibition will feature 30 original paintings, including 15 never-before-seen works.

The opening reception is today, and will be open to the public from tomorrow until September 29, 2010. The highly successful exhibitions will continue to London next. During this year's amfAR charity dinner in Cannes 2 pieces sold for more than 1 million dollars.

Design For The World

A couple of months ago, Emma Elizabeth had shared with us an exciting project she had on the works. "To bring the design world to the public." And, that is how 'The Design Vlog' was born. Based in Sydney, Emma is a designer and stylist, which makes an interesting perspective on each creation to video.

It began at the Salone del Mobile 2010 in Mlian, and now has officially launched during the Sydney Design 2010 and Paris Maison & Objet. Taking a closer look, whether an installation or presentation with interviews make the difference; The point comes through clear with the help of the globe-trotting designer. Below,the design vlog visited the Valentino Retrospective exhibition in Brisbane, Australia, with all the 'ruffles, textures and frills.'

admirers, bloggers, stylists, fans, writers, peacocks, art directors, and hangers on) is

simply amazing. Season after season, the results of our whole are never like always

at all, at all.
