NIKE X Liberty London sneaker collection

We are always a bit weary when we hear that different designers and brands are going to collaborate because sometimes the result is not exceptional.The designer wants to be creative, the brand wants to sell more so they're playing it safe, so it must be a bit daunting to actually await for the end result of such a collaboration.

Fortunately this is not the case with NIKE and Liberty London. The sportswear brand collaborated with probably one of the oldest stores in London to create a 12 piece capsule collection that incorporates the Liberty London trademark prints onto 4 of the most popular NIKE trainers including the Air Force 1 and the Dunk Hi.

The 12 piece trainer capsule collection Nike x Liberty London, will be available at Liberty from the 1st of April and 10 pieces will go to all other stores and globally from 1st of May as 2 of them will be exclusively for Liberty's.

Capsule New York - Spring 2011 Previews

On tuesday morning, Seventh Man stopped by the Capsule Show in New York! Catching up with all the designers was great, but this season all the items speak by themselves. Here are some previews of our favorites!

Bite the Bullet.

Is this possibly the coolest concealer we’ve ever seen? Designed like a bullet (very man-friendly packaging), the range of concealers, foundations and colour pens by fashion makeup artist supremo Ellis Faas has certainly found a home in this grooming editors toiletry bag. Says Ellis: ‘The military designs are nothing aggressive of course: but I have always been fascinated by the way they came up with practical solutions to carry around a lot of stuff, so it’s just an innocent, but practical inspiration’. As the makeup artist behind many a Testino Shoot, (and several shows for Karl Lagerfeld), Ellis has used her in-depth knowledge of the natural colours found in our own skin tones to replicate complexion products that blend seamlessly, and offer just the right amount of coverage and texture balance. There are eight concealer shades available, but try S205 if you have a mid-warm skin tone, and S203 if you are fair.

New Embellishments.

It's always fun to find new sources of embellishment, nothing maximises terrific layering like the perfect necklace draped over the top... or a rugged bracelet wrapped around your wrist.

Seventh Man are currently courting both Moutoncollet and Tobias Wistisen at the moment who are both to be available from Liberty's of London by next month.

Moutoncollet are a Parisian design duo combining modern ideals of masculinity with the intriguing myths of the long ago past.

They cite valiant knighthood and epic adventures by the sea as their inspiration for their newest collection 'Bords De Mer', which is a unique offering of pendants shaped like everything from bullets to horse heads and everything honourable inbetween.

Sterling silver, black enamelling and black nickel are used throughout the collection, carving it out as one fo the most influential gothic touches you can possibly add to an outfit.

Tobias Wistisen is a Danish designer who studied design in Paris, his first experience in the industry was working at John Galliano's design studio, a clear indicator that Wistisen's work is going to be somewhat ingenious: and his fusion of Parisian haute couture [Galliano style] and the functional, practical craftmanship of Scandinavian design do not let the audience down.

All materials used are treated by hand, ensuring that each individual piece is as unique as can be in a world of mass produced embellishments. His collection drives force the fundamental basics of masculinity, the metals are put through aging processes to emanate the rough quality of immaculate, masculine, craftmanship and inspiration is drawn from futuristic vehicles, all the way back down the time line to ancient armour.
