Wonderful - patriotically inspiring news, LFW have won back another British talent: Matthew Williamson - of international high fashion fame - decided this week that he would debut his AW10 collection in the motherland.

Matthew dropped into our Christmas soiree lastnight and told us himself, whilst distracting everyone around with his strikingly devine similarities to D'Artagnan, and his achingly cool composure.

With Burberry on the bill again too, it really is a decisive step in the right way for LFW, congratulations BFC!

This is utterly brilliant, it over shadows his other work like the pyramids throwing darkness over Giza. And while your listening to this, spare a couple of minutes to witness his cover of Billy Bragg's 'New England' again, it betters the original.

It's cool to be square.

Topman, not top of the list for my personal taste, but since their Topman Ltd collection launched an expose of bespoke tailoring, I have certainly re-considered my previous negativity towards them.

Their SS 10 collection 'White Noise' has only furthered my growing warmth towards them. Just look at these boxy delights: right angles, monochrome and nostalgically retro influences, combine to create an alloy of menswear's greatest features.

Impressively elegant.

No Shizz Sherlock.

Guy Ritchies latest venture: a nitty gritty film adaption of a beloved English detective, Sherlock Holmes, is set to tip the top of the charts right at the very last second of 2009. With Robert Downey Jnr and Jude Law hogging the majority of the screen play it is certainly set to be on the request list for many a female, but make sure all you wonderful males get down there also..

7th Man loves a good bit of periodic drama, and when the costume comes out as dandy as this, then there really is no cause for complaints [as of yet]: Ellaborate cravates, immaculate 3 piece suits, moustaches hovering above many a male top lip and a splendid array of head adornments, including the infamous deer stalker that Sherlock is so intrinsically linked with.

It is time for men to sharpen up there acts, ditch the wife beater and beanie, make a decision about facial hair [no inbetween stubble or sporadic tufts], polish those damn brogues and GET SOME TWEED ON YOU!

Sherlock Holmes is released on 26th December 2009 [Boxing Day for those of us in the know] and will act as some divine inspiration for your 2010 wardrobe.

Preview!! Alter/Jeffrey Campbell Collection

Alter has teamed up with Jeffrey Campbell for an in-store collection debut event. Expect to find the whole fall/winter-09 line, which will be available this Thursday and remain for sale throughout the weekend. There will be shoe giveaways, along with the Jeffrey Campbell team to greet and meet all guests, with champagne.

The collection ranges from combat boots, above, in taupe & black distressed leather, and regular clean black leather, from sizes 41-46, $255, a sharp baker shoe in gold, $135, and Ziskis boots, available in black & rust leather, $175, all below.

The Winter Market At Public Assembly

For those of you who didn't make it to Art Basel this weekend, your in for a special treat. The best of Brooklyn based boutiques, fashion designers, vintage clothing collectors and culinary creatives are teaming up to bring us an indoor pop-up shop! The Winter Market will feature gifts, antiques, and edibles all from $1 to $100.

You can expect goods from stores like In God We Trust, Dalaga, Soda fine, Old Hollywood, Roey, Mary Meyer, TreeHouse, Sweet Virginia, Le Grenier, Alter, who will be offering "flasks, wallets, ties scarves and gloves for men", and Houndstooth will offer "a bundle of scarves cut down from vintage wool blankets, at $25-$35, according to size, as well as accessories like neckties & bow ties."
