Pop-Down To The Pop-Up

Today, 7TH MAN was lucky enough to receive a sneak preview of The Jacques Townhouse, located in the heart of central London. This pop-up boutique hotel will be home to the Jacques Soirees, a Jacques twist on the quintessential English tea party which will be curated by the super-stylish songstress, Sophie Ellis Bextor.

The evenings shall take place from tonight for ten nights within the walls of this eccentric wonderland, where guests can enjoy a tipple of Jacques, munch on bespoke cupcakes courtesy of Vintage Patisseries or, if they are so inclined, receive a BeneFit make-over in the downstairs powder room before sampling the delights of a theatrical DJ performance every night.

This über stylish townhouse, which appears as though it was conceived as the love child of Tim Walker and Tim Burton; was in fact transformed by the ever so charming David Carter, creator of East London mirco boutique hotel 40WINKS. Designed to be the ultimate urban orchard, this whimsical world features surprises around every corner, from a theatrical concierge, to dramatic tarot readers to spectacular indoor trees adorned with beautiful vintage trinkets:

Tweed Run 2010

One of the daily pleasures in life, is that morning and evening's moments when you feel the wind blowing your hair, and everything seems to be right with the world. And, if you're anything like the 7thMan, clothing organization is top priority.

United by the love of old English attire and cycling, the Tweed Run which was organized last month in London, attracted quite the turnout. Judging from the images one can mistake the decade, yet there is no denying the love for early 20th century British cycling outfits with matching vintage bikes.

The inaugural Tweed Run took place last year in London. Borrowing the name from the emblematic woolen fabric coming out of Scotland, this enjoyable event pays homage to fashion, cycling and of course the classic English spirit of the early 20th century.400 participants took part in the 12 mile excursion around the city which began at the Rootstein Hopkins Parade Grounds at the Chelsea College of Art & Design. Going the whole nine yards, a tea break was even scheduled at Kensington Gardens where riders got to enjoy some classical tunes from three-piece strong orchestra. Proving all to be a much Success!

Americans fret not, the Tween Run will be coming to Toronto and New York this coming Fall!!

The Winter Market At Public Assembly

For those of you who didn't make it to Art Basel this weekend, your in for a special treat. The best of Brooklyn based boutiques, fashion designers, vintage clothing collectors and culinary creatives are teaming up to bring us an indoor pop-up shop! The Winter Market will feature gifts, antiques, and edibles all from $1 to $100.

You can expect goods from stores like In God We Trust, Dalaga, Soda fine, Old Hollywood, Roey, Mary Meyer, TreeHouse, Sweet Virginia, Le Grenier, Alter, who will be offering "flasks, wallets, ties scarves and gloves for men", and Houndstooth will offer "a bundle of scarves cut down from vintage wool blankets, at $25-$35, according to size, as well as accessories like neckties & bow ties."

7th Man will spend a lovely day at the market.

Houndstooth - Vintage for Today's Man
