NIKE X Liberty London sneaker collection

We are always a bit weary when we hear that different designers and brands are going to collaborate because sometimes the result is not exceptional.The designer wants to be creative, the brand wants to sell more so they're playing it safe, so it must be a bit daunting to actually await for the end result of such a collaboration.

Fortunately this is not the case with NIKE and Liberty London. The sportswear brand collaborated with probably one of the oldest stores in London to create a 12 piece capsule collection that incorporates the Liberty London trademark prints onto 4 of the most popular NIKE trainers including the Air Force 1 and the Dunk Hi.

The 12 piece trainer capsule collection Nike x Liberty London, will be available at Liberty from the 1st of April and 10 pieces will go to all other stores and globally from 1st of May as 2 of them will be exclusively for Liberty's.

Singing In The Rain

The quintessence of British clothing most commonly derives from the weather, look a Burberry's trademark gabardine fabric, or Barbour waxed jackets and Hunter wellingtons: all of which, were developed to keep ourselves dry in the torrential British downpours.

A new British classic encapsulating the very heart of English cheer is set to emerge on the market London Undercover founder Jamie Milestone has creating some hearty umbrellas for us all to protect ourselves with.

The umbrella - something of a necessity whilst inhabiting anywhere in Britain - yet something of a bore to be seen carrying. NOT anymore: Milestone, using his penchant for quirky kitsch imagery has developed gingham umbrellas, lined with a full english breakfast. If you don't fancy breakfast, then have a fish and chip dinner, not hungry? Then quiver beneath monochrome dogtooth, the list of designs is not endless, but is very long.

FINALLY, an umbrella can be an accessory again.

The Boy in The Oak

Last Wednesday Liberty welcomed a fantastical branch of the fash pack to their 4th floor in honour of Jessica Albarn and her new book 'The Boy in The Oak', £12.99 and exclusively at Liberty until September [stocks will run out].

The beautiful book is a fantastical fairy tale of a young boy and the magic of nature, the pages are littered with illustrious illustrations and charming text. Double layers of acetate give the book an enigmatic edge over an average 'beach read' hard back.

The varnished wooden floors and unique pieces of furniture that line the walls of Liberty's fourth floor set the atmosphere perfectly for such a pretty story, the wonderland of department stores.

Damon Albarn, Jamie Hewlett, and Daisy and Pearl Lowe were among some of the most established guests at the evening, showing their ever lasting support for the arts.

Jessica Albarn will be back instore on the 23rd of June for a book signing to kick off the release.

The Sartorialist at Liberty

With a monthly page in GQ, contributing to Style.com, recently selected as one of Time Magazine’s top 100 design influencers, its no wonder Scott Schuman’s book signing at Liberty was a complete success.

Scott also known as “The Sartorialist” to many of his fans has put together a photo-book, documenting fashion from New York to London, and beyond. Over 300 showed up, and waited in line just to have a moment with their daily style photographer. Scott always grateful, greeted everyone with a smile, handshake, and even posed for photos. Winning Londoners over.
