Diesel x Adidas Originals collaboration

After their successful denim collaboration in 2008 Diesel and Adidas Originals thought it was time to put their thinking caps on and create a limited capsule trainers collection.

Adidas used their street swagger on Diesel's denim in 2008 but this time it was Diesel who curated  their trademark on five classic Adidas styles. Founder's, Renzo Rosso, son Stefano who took the lead in the re-creation of the project stated that "After the amazing denim collaboration, when Diesel’s know-how was infused by Adidas’ spirit, we are now starting a new chapter of the partnership: The heritage of the two brands will come together, applying our spirit on Adidas classic kicks."

The trainers will go on sale this week in Diesel stores and Diesel.com but the lovechild of the two brands, including an amazing spiked manipulated StanSmith, won't be available for everyone  since there's only 10 thousand pairs manufactured!!

What do you guys think of the new collaboration?

Diesel launches Turbo Denim range

Diesel has launched a revolutionary new denim that in 30 days, will adapt to the way you wear your jeans and imprints the way you live your life onto in.

An exclusive partnership between the iconic denim brand and ISKO™, the world’s leading denim manufacturer, has inspired the creation "TurbotechTM". The ISKO™ patented TurbotechTM technology means denim can now evolve to fit the body’s movements, adapting to the wearer’s lifestyle. It will take on the shape of a wallet, MP3 player, keys – anything, in fact, you carry around in the pockets of your jeans – customising your denim garment and making it truly one of a kind and unique to your life.
With the special weave and indigo dyeing process, the garments quickly take on a vintage, stone-washed effect look that’s always changing. After a few washes the garments fade and start to reflect the unique imprint of their wearer.

“This incredible, innovative fabric, developed in collaboration with ISKO™, allows denim to live and change according to the wearer’s lifestyle. It’s a real second skin – enjoy it!” says enthusiast Renzo Rosso, president and founder of Diesel.
To launch their new Turbo Denim range, Diesel have issued the public with a challenge to help tell the technological story of Turbo Denim in a fun, engaging way and in classic Diesel style.
For 30 days, each purchaser of a pair of Turbo Denim jeans is encouraged to become part of the challenge: namely, how messed up, worn in and roughed up can you get your Turbo Denim’s, and what/where and how you wore them to get them looking like this.....
Each pair of jeans will come with a zip card which will act as a guide or checklist of ways to help 'vintage customize' your jeans - 30 tasks for 30 days.

You can photograph your best efforts and upload them to facebook.com or visit www.diesel.com. The most innovative and imaginative methods will be in the draw for one of Diesels amazing prizes!!

(We have completed Day 1 of our 30 days challenge..... watch this space for our updates!)

Diesel Kicks Ass

The world does not need another running shoe. That would be just far too boring. So those clever chaps over at Diesel have come up with a clever alternative. Introducing- THE KICKING SHOE!

This new approach by the streetwear label has strong digital influence the extends beyond the regular Facebook and Blog campaign. No Diesel went one step further and unearthed an ass-kicking machine from the Bolshevik Revolution. What's more, they wrote a letter to the Olympic Committee to have ass-kicking accepted as an Olympic discipline in London 2012. For more about the label's ballsy adventures, be sure to check out the new AW 10 catalogue in stores now.

The new range meanwhile, consists of two major themes. "Claw" which has been inspired by old-school Diesel footwear. Characterized by the trademark Diesel side strap, the footwear is available in materials such as washed suede, nylon and a combination of matte and patent leather. The "Treatments" side of the collection however features footwear that is considerably more detailed with embroidered logos, customized soles and treated fabrics appearing throughout.

Shot in Buenos Aires by Nacho Ricci, Diesel's new ass kicking campaign was developed by the Argentinean agency, Santo, jointly with the Diesel Creative Team. Check out the hilarious images below:

The Chase Is On

Last weekend, Diesel Black Gold unveiled the eagerly anticipated debut collection by Sophie Kokosalaki for A/W 10 with a spectacular soiree featuring familiar faces such as Rose Byrne and Robert Konjic. The party was also the scene for the ultimate reveal of the label's recent collaborative project with Another Magazine. "The Chase" is a short film, shot by renown photographer Will Davidson and pays homage to the classic chase sequences that infiltrated the cinema screens of French New Wave. Complete with a distinctive noir aesthetic, the dark and gritty cinematography complements Kokosalaki's collection of streetwear ensembles of a decidedly youthful and punkish disposition.

Diesel Black Gold S/S 11

It may only be her second season as Creative Director at Diesel Black Gold, but already Sophia Kokosalaki has well and truly made her mark on the runways at New York Fashion Week.
The new collection, which once again retained Diesel Black Gold's signature vintage feel; this season reveled in festival chic. With soft leathers and suede key fabrics within the collection, relaxed silhouettes were created through form- fitting jackets, flares and patterned scarves, revealed in dusty pinks, greys and tans. Ultimately this is a collection which oozes a certain rock-star feel, while at the same time capturing the Californian spirit of wild creativity and freedom fused with an unmistakably love for the eternal summer.

Wired For Creativity

Straight in for A/W 10 is Diesel's brand spanking new denim collection. Never one to shy away from unconventional threads, these 5pockets promote "DIY and spontaneity as a form of rebellion against the dull conformity". Featuring wire as a core material, it is interpreted here as different strands of thread running through the fabric, while decorative elements also appear on the denim reflecting the brave heart of the brand. In terms of washes for A/W 10, Diesel's signature 3D treatment is back, where a manual folding process is used resulting in a worn vintage look and sense of depth.

What's more, Diesel introduce a cool casual selection of footwear, perfect for the new season. So why not team the jeans with a pair of hi-tops from the new collection to complete the look?
